Founders

Rossin Steel was founded by Ted Rossin and Jeff Clinkscales in 2005. The two have worked together in the San Diego industry for decades and enjoy a great, lasting partnership.

Ted began working in the steel industry in 1963 as a laborer in a fabrication shop. In 1979, his career in San Diego took off when he began work as an estimator / project manager. He became general manager / vice president, and eventually president, of a steel company in 1996. Ted served in the United States Navy Seabees with two tours in Vietnam, and he graduated from Purdue University. He served on the Associated General Contractors, San Diego Chapter Board of Directors for 14 years and was the chapter’s president in 2001.

Jeff’s experience in the steel industry started in 1983 when he began as a general shop laborer. In three years he progressed to the engineering department, eventually becoming the director of engineering. Jeff also experienced time as an estimator, and in 1996, when Jeff, Ted and other partners bought a steel company, Jeff was promoted to vice president / general manager. He is also very active in the industry, serving on many committees related to the construction industry.

Ted and Jeff have been involved in many high-profile projects in the San Diego area. These include Downtown San Diego’s Horton Plaza Shopping Center, the Del Mar Racetrack Grandstand, the San Diego Marriott Marquis Hotel, Jamul Casino, the Saint Augustine High School Gymnasium, and the University Town Center Westfield Mall Expansion.

Rossin Steel attributes our success not only to Ted and Jeff’s many years of combined experience, but also to our many dedicated and loyal employees, some of whom have been with the company for more than 30 years. We consider our mechanics to be the very best in the industry!
